TimbabuildĀ® Epoxy Wood Stabiliser (EWS) by Chemfix is a high-performance, two-part low-viscosity, solvent-free epoxy primer, specifically developed to penetrate and reinforce weakened timber by restoring internal strength to damaged wood fibres.
Formulated for use alongside the Timbabuild ERC10 (Epoxy Rapid Cure) and EHB60 (Epoxy High Build) systems, EWS primes the surface to ensure maximum adhesion and longevity of the repair. It is designed to soak deeply into soft, decayed, or porous wood, significantly enhancing the structural integrity of the repair area.
Prior to application, decayed or discoloured wood should be fully removed using appropriate tools such as a chisel or router, and the area lightly sanded to aid adhesion. The timberās moisture content should be below 18%, verified with a standard moisture meter. Damp wood must be allowed to dry naturally or with the help of a hot air gun.
EWS is supplied in a pre-measured 2:1 volume ratio, ensuring easy and accurate mixing. Once manually combined and agitated for one minute, it should be applied using a standard disposable paintbrush and left to cure for a minimum of 20 minutes before continuing with the repair.
